Meet Our Staff

Carrie and Don Brown, Owners of North Iowa Scuba. Both Carrie and Don are PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainers. We received our scuba Certification in 2006, and became Instructors in 2009. We like diving locally, and love warm tropical waters. (Do you see a pattern here?) If it is wet, we will dive it!

Mark Chappelle, PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. Living in Des Moines, Mark handles much of our scuba training there. Mark loves to be in the water. It is a good thing he retired, as when he is not teaching scuba, he is a lifeguard at the YMCA in Waukee, it is easy to see that he loves the water.

Mike Morse, PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. Mike originally became an Instructor in the 1980's. After a break, he renewed and began teaching for us. Also from Des Moines, Mike handles training there along with Mark. While teaching, Mike likes to interject his "Dad Jokes"!

John Ayers, PADI Dive Master. John loves to dive, and it seems wherever we are teaching John is there! John is so good with students, we have to remind ourselves who is teaching and who is helping!

Matt and Miranda Haugan, PADI Dive Masters. As a husband and wife team with 2 little girls, they help as much as time allows. Usually one is helping while the other is watching the "future divers".

Jack Decker, Advanced diver, shop assistant. Jack's love of diving is infectious. He is an excellent diver, and is a part of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society helping to document and preserve our shipwreck history. Oh, he is full of knowledge too!
